No meio da floresta, na fronteira entre o Brasil e o Peru, vive o povo Huni Kuin. Povo verdadeiro, forte, resistente, conectado com a Terra e o Divino através da música, da dança, dos cantos, das plantas e dos saberes passados através das gerações. Eles são os últimos guardiões da floresta.
Num passado não tão distante este povo foi expulso de suas terras e escravizado, mas nos últimos tempos os Huni Kuin vêm ganhando destaque no Brasil e no mundo por seus costumes e tradições e pelo extenso conhecimento das plantas medicinais da floresta.
O Festival Nukun Dewe é um momento onde aldeias das três terras indígenas próximas ao município de Jordão (Acre) se reúnem para fortalecer e difundir sua herança cultural milenar. Um espaço que amplia os conhecimentos individuais e coletivos por meio da troca de experiências e saberes entre as gerações, garantindo aos seus descendentes acesso ao conhecimento tradicional. Reuni-los no mesmo local é unir pedaços de uma história de riqueza e conexão profunda com a natureza.
The Huni Kuin live in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, in the border regions between Brazil and Peru. The Huni Kuin are authentic, strong and resistant people. They connect with the Earth and the Divine through their traditional songs and dances in ancient ceremonial rites. Their traditional knowledge is marked by a deep reverence of the natural world. They are the last and true guardians of the forest.
Not so long ago the Huni Kuin have been forcefully driven of their lands into slavery, yet today their culture is slowly regaining ground as the Huni Kuin are more and more recognized for their immense and invaluable knowledge of the medicinal plants of the rainforest.
The Nukun Dewe Festival is a time where villagers of the three indigenous lands near the city of Jordão (Acre) come together to revive and strengthen their ancient cultural heritage. The festival provides a space to exchange experience and knowledge among varying generations, thus securing the preservation of their rich cultural heritage. Such a convergence of the today largely dispersed Huni Kuin people is like putting together pieces of a larger puzzle. A puzzle that as one reveals the magnificent history of a culture of humans deeply interrelated with the natural kingdom of the amazon.
Na última edição, cerca de 400 indígenas compartilharam suas músicas, danças, brincadeiras, histórias, rezas e outros conhecimentos ecológicos!
Este ano, para receber os indígenas com mais conforto e segurança, precisaremos:
- Melhorar o acesso a Aldeia Boa Vista.
- Construir banheiros ecológicos que evitem a contaminação das águas e propagação de doenças, de acordo com hábitos locais e padrões básicos de saúde.
- Construir área de cozinha e refeitório para servir mais de 500 indígenas.
- Construir maloca tradicional de palha para hospedagem.
- Subsidiar a logística de transporte e alimentação dos participantes.
- Custear a viagem de anciães e anciões de aldeias distantes. .
Essas melhorias, após o término do Nukun Dewe, significam benefícios efetivos para a comunidade, que utilizará esses espaços para abrigar escolas, sediar reuniões, eventos culturais e encontros.
METAS DE FINANCIAMENTO
Com a arrecadação de R$18000 podemos alcançar todos nossos objetivos. Para chegar até esse ponto, dividimos nossa campanha em diferentes metas:
- SAÚDE – R$ 1.500: Construir (03) banheiros ecológicos.
- ALIMENTO – R$12.500: Construir (6) banheiros ecológicos + (01) Cozinha e refeitório + (01) Maloca de hospedagem+ Alimentação dos indígenas visitantes;
- SABEDORIA – R$ 18.000: Construir (12) banheiros ecológicos + (01) Cozinha e refeitório + (01) Maloca de hospedagem+ Logística de transporte e a alimentação dos indígenas visitantes + Custear a vinda de pajés e mestras de aldeias distantes para promover a recuperação da cultura tradicional.
Todo dinheiro arrecadado acima deste valor será destinado a construção de banheiros ecológicos e um "Kupixawa" (maloca para cerimônias e reuniões).
In Nukun Dewe 2017 about 400 indigenous people shared their songs, dances, their traditional stories, prayers and their immense ecological knowledge!
To receive the natives in a responsible and secure way, we will need to:
- Improve local infrastructure.
- Build ecological toilets in accordance with basic health standards.
- Build a kitchen area to cater food for over 500 people.
- Build a traditional community hut for lodging.
- Subsidize transport and food logistics for indigenous participants.
- Support elders in their travel from distant communities.
After the festival, the new spaces and facilities will bring benefits to the local community, which can now use them for school classes and to host meetings, councils and cultural events.
OUR FUNDRAISING GOALS
With the amount of 18.000 BRL (approx. 5.400 dollar) we can achieve all our goals. To reach this point, we divide our campaign into different steps:
- HEALTH – 1500 BRL: Building of (03) ecological toilets.
- FOOD SECURITY – 12500 BRL: Building (06) ecological toilets + (01) Kitchen area + (01) Lodging hut + Supplying food for the indigenous visitors.
- WISDOM – 18000 BRL: Building (12) ecological toilets + (01) Kitchen area + (01) Lodging hut + Supplying transport and food for the indigenous visitors + Bringing elders from distant communities.
All money raised above this amount will be reverted to the construction of ecological toilets and a "Kupixawa" (maloca/large straw hut for ceremonies and meetings).
