Era uma vez um texto que em 2018 ou seria 2019 chegou em minhas mãos com a ideia de que ele fosse ilustrado e editado, esse convite veio do Allan Kaplan, um mestre - amigo - companheiro de conversas sobre a vida.
Allan, é sul -africano, vive hoje em dia em TowerLand, uma reserva natural que ele e sua companheira Sue Davidoff aprenderam a olhar e acompanhar em seu desenvolver e desenrolar selvagem (selvagem aqui é do âmbito da natureza sem intervenção do ser humano). Juntos, Allan e Sue, além de serem cuidadores de Towerland eles também são os guardiões da Prática Social Reflexiva, um jeito - lógica - pensamento sobre a vida e fenômeno social desenvolvido a partir da fenomenologia Goethiana. Goethe - sim, esse ser que além de cientista era poeta, escritor, desenvolveu teorias e outras formas de estar e se relacionar com a vida e a natureza.
Esse texto que chegou em minhas mãos é um conjunto de 7 contos - passagens, não tão óbvios, e ao mesmo tempo intrigantes de vislumbres da vida, da relação com ela.
Esse texto chegou com essa encomenda, uma série de ilustrações todas feitas em nanquim, a partir de observação. E para mim, esse texto pedia um requinte de edição, algo mais artesanal, diferente e próprio, e foi assim que somente agora em 2024 ele nasceu.
Acontece que ao mesmo tempo todo o projeto, ilustrações e enfim, a edição final, não possui financiamento, e a ideia é que esse trabalho possa ser valorado e reconhecido. E que o texto possa também receber uma tradução/ revisão em português.
Desta forma surge a ideia do projeto na Benfeitoria, para cobrir esse trabalho e também começar a distribuir o livro.

Once upon a time, in 2018 or maybe 2019, a text came into my hands with an invitation to illustrate and edit it. This invitation came from Allan Kaplan, a master, friend, and conversation partner about life.
Allan is South African and currently lives in TowerLand, a nature reserve that he and his partner Sue Davidoff have learned to observe and follow in its wild development and unfolding. Together, Allan and Sue, in addition to being caretakers of Towerland, are also the guardians of Reflective Social Practice, a way of thinking about life and social phenomena developed from Goethean phenomenology.
Goethe - yes, this being who, in addition to being a scientist, was a poet, writer, and developed theories and other ways of being and relating to life and nature.
The text that came into my hands is a set of 7 short stories - passages, not so obvious, and at the same time intriguing glimpses of life and the relationship with it. This text came with this order, a series of illustrations all done in Indian ink, based on observation. And for me, this text called for a refined edition, something more artisanal, different and unique, and that's how it was only now, in 2024, that it was born.
It turns out that at the same time the entire project, illustrations and finally the final edition, does not have funding, and the idea is that this work can be valued and recognized. And that the text can also receive a translation/revision in Portuguese.
This is how the idea of the project at Benfeitoria came about, to cover this work and also start distributing the book.
