Enfrentamos hoje um grande desafio! E, especialmente neste momento de tantas incertezas, nossos projetos assistenciais, sociais e educacionais se fazem mais necessários. Contamos com o apoio irrestrito de nossos professores, facilitadores convidados e uma ampla rede de voluntários. Agora precisamos da colaboração da sociedade civil! A suspensão de nossas atividades presenciais em decorrência da crise do coronavírus impactou seriamente nossa sustentabilidade. Além disso, as livrarias fechadas dificultam a venda de nossos livros. Por isso, com a interrupção das nossas principais fontes de receita, contamos apenas com os recursos provenientes de doações de associados e atividades online, que são insuficientes para honrar nossos compromissos fixos, como salários de funcionários, impostos, contratos com fornecedores de serviços e gastos com instalações prediais.
A Associação Palas Athena é uma organização filantrópica da sociedade civil e sem fins lucrativos, declarada de utilidade pública municipal, estadual e federal. Não recebe qualquer apoio financeiro, seja de entidades públicas ou de empresas privadas. Há cinquenta anos promove, incuba e agencia projetos nas áreas da Educação, Saúde, Direitos Humanos, Diálogo Intercultural e Interreligioso, Meio Ambiente e Promoção Social.
Em 2019 beneficiamos com atendimento cerca de 17 mil pessoas, sendo 60% com gratuidade.

● Secretaria Municipal de Saúde de São Paulo - Capacitação e Supervisão em Práticas Meditativas
● CEJUSC – Centro Judiciário de Solução de Conflitos e Cidadania do Fórum Regional de Santana - Projeto de Mediação Pré-Judicial
● UNESCO - Termo de Cooperação para Difusão - Programa Cultura de Paz e Não Violência (Fóruns Mensais, Semanas Gandhi, Nelson Mandela e Martin Luther King) em parceria com o SESC Vila Mariana
● Rede Cultural Beija-Flor (Projeto Néctar) - Ética da Convivência e Cultura de Paz e Não Violência para jovens em situação de risco social de 13 a 17 anos e seus familiares. (80% de gratuidade)
● Além de parcerias com organizações da sociedade civil, públicas e privadas.

Palas Athena Has to Go On
Financial support for sustaining the activities of Palas Athena Association during a 4-month period due to the impact of the coronavirus epidemic.
Goal 1 – Keeping Palas Athena Association during 4 months of social isolation: R$ 350.000,00
“Palas Athena has to go on inspiring people, groups, and communities”. This is the drive that moves us.
We face a great challenge nowadays! Especially in this moment of great insecurity, our social aid and educational projects are most needed. We count on the full support of our teachers, guest speakers, and large team of volunteers. Now we need the collaboration of civil society! The effort for social change is one that we make together, be a part of it and make a donation!

The interruption of our regular schedule of courses due to public health measures had a huge impact on our sustainability. Furthermore, bookshops are closed and this limits our ability to sell our books. These are our main sources of income, and without them, only donations of members are not enough to cover our monthly commitments, such as salaries, taxes, contracts with service suppliers, and expenses with our office.
Palas Athena Association is a nonprofit philanthropic organization, declared of public utility by all governmental levels. We do not receive any kind of financial support from public or private organizations. During fifty years, we have conceived, organized, and implemented projects in the fields of Education, Health, Social Service, Human Rights, Intercultural and Interreligious Dialog, Environmental Preservation, and Social Development.
In 2019 17 thousand people were benefited by our programs, and 60% of them attended free of cost

Our activities are conducted free of cost within the following cooperation agreements:
● Fundação CASA – Gandhi Project for the interns of the correctional facilities for youth in São Paulo
● Department of Social Aid and Development of São Paulo City - SAS Pinheiros - Project Caring for Caregivers
● Department of Heal of São Paulo City – Training of Meditation Teachers and Supervision of their practice
● Judiciary Centre of Conflict Resolution and Citizenship of the Santana Court - Mediation prior to hearings.
● UNESCO – Cooperation Agreement for dissemination of the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence Program. (Monthly Forums, Gandhi, Mandela, and Martin Luther King Weeks in partnership with SESC Vila Mariana)
● Rede Cultural Beija-Flor (community in the outskirts of São Paulo) – Ethics for Coexistence, Culture of Peace and Non Violence for youth and their families. (80% free of cost)
