SOBRE A ESCOLA CARIOCA DE ARTES TÊXTEIS
A Escola Carioca de Artes Têxteis será um espaço dedicado ao ensino e difusão de práticas têxteis tradicionais e contemporâneas no bairro da Tijuca, cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Um lugar onde a experimentação prática e a teoria se unem para criar um ambiente, comunitário, colaborador e inspirador; um local onde a partilha de saberes potencializa a criatividade e uma visão crítica do fazer manual.
Ela é fruto e procura expandir o Ateliê A Modelista, que desde 2019 atua através de cursos presenciais e online na área da Moda e do Clube dA Modelista.
A ideia é oferecer oficinas de:
- Costura
- Modelagem
- Bordado
- Tear
- História da Moda e do Têxtil
- Estamparia
- Tingimento Natural
- entre outras ligadas a esse universo dos trabalhos manuais envolvendo tecidos.
OBJETIVO DO FINANCIAMENTO COLETIVO
Essa campanha se destina a viabilizar a criação da Escola Carioca de Artes Têxteis e com isso contribuir para o encontro de pessoas, a reflexão e a troca de experiências em torno dos têxteis na cidade do Rio de Janeiro.
QUEM É A MODELISTA
Eu sou Carol Umbelino, a mente e as mãozinhas por trás do Clube da Modelista e da Escola Carioca de Artes Têxteis. Sou costureira, modelista e pesquisadora, formada em Tecnologia em Produção do Vestuário e pós graduada em Design de Moda pelo Senai Cetiqt e mestre em Bens Culturais e Projetos Sociais pela FGV.
Trabalho com ensino na área de Moda desde 2010 e em 2019 abri o Ateliê A Modelista.

ABOUT THE CARIOCA SCHOOL OF TEXTILE ARTS
The Escola Carioca de Artes Têxteis will be a space dedicated to the teaching and dissemination of traditional and contemporary textile practices in the Tijuca neighborhood, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. A place where practical experimentation and theory come together to create an environment, community, collaborative and inspiring; a place where the sharing of knowledge enhances creativity and a critical view of manual making.
It is the result of and seeks to expand the Ateliê A Modelista, which since 2019 has been operating through classroom and online courses in the area of Fashion and the Clube da Modelista.
The idea is to offer workshops:
- Sewing
- Modeling
- Embroidery
- Loom
- History of Fashion and Textile
- Press Shop
- Natural Dyeing
- among others linked to this universe of handicrafts involving fabrics.
PURPOSE OF COLLECTIVE FINANCING
This campaign is intended to enable the creation of the Escola Carioca de Artes Textiles and thus contribute to the meeting of people, reflection and exchange of experiences around textiles in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
WHO IS THE MODELIST
I'm Carol Umbelino, the mind and the little hands behind Clube da Modelista and Escola Carioca de Artes Têxteis. I am a seamstress, pattern maker and researcher, graduated in Technology in Clothing Production and post graduated in Fashion Design by Senai Cetiqt and Master in Cultural Goods and Social Projects by FGV.
I have been working with teaching in the Fashion area since 2010 and in 2019 I opened the Ateliê A Modelista.
COSTS
Goal 1: With the goal of R$20,000, it will be possible to pay 3 months of rent, machinery and furniture for the sewing room.
Goal 2: with the goal of R$53,600, we were able to pay 6 months of rent and fixed costs and the machinery and furniture for the sewing and modeling rooms.
Goal 3: with the goal of R$80,400, it will be possible to pay 9 months of rent and expenses and the machinery, furniture and other materials for the sewing, modeling and multipurpose rooms.
Goal 4: with the goal of R$141,900, we will cover the costs of 1 year of rent and fixed expenses, equipment for all classrooms and minimum remuneration for the operation of classes and consequent availability of scholarships with free monthly fees.
