Incrível, em 15 dias de campanha atingimos 100% da meta inicial que era de R$ 22.000,00 -correspondente a: passagens, o computador (obrigatório para iniciar o curso), despesas iniciais
(application e depósito de garantia da vaga) e mais dois meses de moradia e alimentação.
Amazingly, after 2 weeks since we initiated this campaign, we have already attained 100% of the R$22,000 – our initial goal which will cover his for airfare, laptop (mandatory at the beginning of
the course), and inital expenses (application and security deposit FEE ) as well as 2 months of room, board, and meals.

Um sonho - A dream
Em 31 de março de 2014 recebi a tão sonhada notícia... Havia sido selecionado, dentre milhares de jovens, para estudar música em uma das mais conceituadas universidades de Música do mundo e a nº 1 nos Estados Unidos – Berklee College of Music. Ainda, que receberia, pelos quatro anos de curso, a maior bolsa concedida para estrangeiros.
Como posso esquecer desse dia? Abraçado a minha mãe, entre sorrisos e lágrimas, me vi diante da maior oportunidade de minha vida. Todo meu esforço tinha valido à pena! Mas, havia ainda um enorme obstáculo à minha frente. Mesmo tendo sido contemplado com a maior bolsa de estudos concedida a estrangeiros, ainda teria que arcar com o saldo restante do curso, moradia, alimentação, passagens, etc.
Estava tão perto do meu sonho... mas ainda muito distante do que eu e minha família poderíamos garantir!
"On March 31, 2014 I received the news that I had been dreaming about. I had been selected, amongst thousands of youngsters, to study music at one of the most prestigious universities for music in the world and the no. 1 in the USA – Berklee College of Music. Even more, I was to receive the highest-level merit scholarship for the four year program awarded to a foreign student. How could I ever forget that day? Between the laughter and tears of joy, I hugged my mother and knew this would be the greatest opportunity of my life!!!All of my hard work had been worth it!! Yet, there is still a huge obstacle I need to surpass. Even though I was awarded this scholarship, I still would have to find a way to pay for the remainder of my tuition, room and board, meals, airfare, etc. I feel so close to my dream, yet so far, since my family cannot guarantee the rest."
O músico - The musician
Sou de uma família humilde, de Barra Mansa, interior do Rio de Janeiro. Sempre fui apaixonado por música e depois de algumas tentativas com instrumentos como trompete, bateria, violino, guitarra, aos 10 anos, no tecladinho de brinquedo de minha irmã, descobri aquele que seria o meu “verdadeiro amor”, o piano.
"I come from a humble family from Barra Mansa, on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. I have always loved music and after a few tries with other instruments like the trumpet, violin, and guitar. I was 10 years old, when I found my sister´s keyboard, and discovered my true love, the piano."
Início da minha jornada - The beginning of my journey
Aos 12 anos fui aceito no Conservatório de Musica em Taubaté. Depois, aos 17, por conta própria, decidi retornar a Barra Mansa e estudar piano clássico na UBM - Universidade de Barra Mansa. Foi muito duro para minha mãe me ver saindo de casa, mas ela sabia que tocar piano era o que sabia fazer, o que queria fazer, então tinha que me dedicar, tinha que ser muito bom.
Participei do projeto Música nas Escolas de Barra Mansa, onde conheci David Chew OBE, renomado violoncelista que se tornou meu mentor e me levou a uma audição no projeto Arte & Transformação Social, realizado, em 2011, na Escola Britânica do Rio de Janeiro, no bairro da Urca.
Nesta audição, fui selecionado, dentre centenas de jovens, para um curso de verão de quatro semanas na CalArts, em Los Angeles.
"At the age of 12, I was accepted to the Music Conservatory of Taubaté. Later at 17, I decided on my own to return to my hometown to study classical piano at the University of Barra Mansa. It was very hard for my mother to see me leave home, but she knew that playing piano was what I wanted to do, and so I knew I really had to dedicate myself, to become the best pianist I could be. I participated in a program called Music in the Schools of Barra Mansa, where I met David Chew OBE, a renowned cellist who became my mentor and who took me to an audition for the Art and Social Transformation Project in 2011 at the British School of Rio de Janeiro, in the Urca neighborhood. I was selected, amongst hundred of young students, to spend four weeks in the summer program at CalArts, in Los Angeles."
Final feliz (ou novo começo)... A happy ending (or a new beginning)...
Dois anos de muita dedicação, estudos e troca de e-mails se passaram até que fui convidado para uma audição. Lembro que passei a noite estudando na casa da mãe de um aluno da Escola Britânica, Rio de Janeiro, e pela manhã me dirigi para a UNIRIO onde iria me apresentar.
Estava nervoso. O piano parecia desafinado... Mas segui em frente e quando vi estava tocando com um dos professores da Berklee, inventando arranjos e melodias. Até que em um impulso, o professor fechou o piano e disse “That`s it! I want this guy!” Sai da audição cheio de esperança...
O processo de seleção foi longo, mas consegui vencer! Fui aceito na Universidade dos meus “sonhos”, com a bolsa máxima, por mérito, concedida a um estrangeiro.
Cheguei muito longe, muito além do que poderia imaginar, mas meu sonho ainda parecia distante, inacessível!
"Two years of dedication and studies would pass until I was invited for an interview and to audition to a panel of professors from the Berklee College of Music at UNIRIO. I was so nervous. The piano seemed to be out of tune… but I kept playing and soon saw that I was doing a duet, performing together with one of the professors from Berklee while improvising arrangements and melodies. In an instant, the professor closed the piano and said “That´s it, I want this guy!” I left that audition full of hope. The selection process was long and tedious but I managed to make it through and was accepted. I had been admitted to the university of my dreams with the highest-level merit scholarship awarded to a foreign student. I have made it this far, farther than I ever dreamed possible, but still my dream seems distant, inaccessible…"

Preciso desta significativa quantia para custear as despesas com a Universidade – da parte da anuidade não contemplada pela bolsa de estudos - e com passagem, moradia, alimentação ...
Sua participação será indispensável para custear o meu primeiro ano de curso. Nos anos seguintes pretendo buscar fontes de renda, no interior da Universidade, que me ajudem a custear parte das despesas já que, com meu visto de estudante, não poderei ter qualquer trabalho externo remunerado.
