PORQUE PRECISAMOS DA SUA AJUDA?

Entre os dias 23 e 28 de Julho vamos construir 50 casas emergenciais nas comunidades em São Paulo! Com outros 7 voluntários malucos que amam o TETO como eu, criamos esta campanha para arrecadar fundos para a construção destas casas. Isto possibilitará dar um lar novo e seguro para 50 famílias, mas também proporcionará uma experiência única para mais de 300 voluntários que participarão do evento. Com a colaboração de cada um de vocês, conseguiremos arrecadar as doações necessárias!!

Eu me chamo Isabel Engels. Eu sou uma estudante de Ciências Políticas e Desenvolvimento Internacional no Canadá. Já faz 2 anos e meio que eu sou uma voluntária no TETO! Nossa, não acredito que já faz tanto tempo! Quando eu começei, não tinha idéia o quanto uma construção ia mudar a minha vida. Eu estou participando desta campanha, para que você ajude a melhorar a vida de famílias vivendo em uma situação de extrema pobreza, mas também possibilite que voluntários, como eu, possam sair de sua zona de conforto e ajudem a criar uma sociedade mais justa. VOCÊ pode fazer a diferença! 

A GRANDE PERGUNTA: O QUE É O TETO? 

TETO é uma ONG presente em 19 países na América Latina e Caribe e nos seguintes estados no Brasil: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, e Bahia. Não recebemos nenhuma assistência do governo. É isso ai… Por isso precisamos da sua ajuda para continuar mudando a vida de pessoas em comunidades carentes. Mas enfim, como é que o TETO faz isso?

Existem milhões de pessoas vivendo em uma situação de extrema pobreza. É aqui que entra o trabalho do TETO. Nós temos como objetivo erradicar a extrema pobreza nas favelas mais precárias, por meio do engajamento comunitário e mobilização de jovens voluntários. Com um modelo de trabalho onde moradores das comunidades e voluntários trabalham lado a lado, o TETO busca construir moradias mais dignas e envolver toda a comunidade em projetos de melhoria para seus bairros.

É TUDO OU NADA!!

A meta final da minha campanha é a construção de 5 casas. Para atingir este objetivo precisamos arrecadar R$36,000. Esse valor irá cubrir os custos administrativos e materiais das casas e das recompensas associadas com as doações. Se não conseguirmos arrecadar o valor da primeira meta de R$16,500 até o 1° de Julho, 100% do dinheiro doado será devolvido aos doadores. Por esta razão precisamos da ajuda de todos para atingir as metas! Como Ifeanyi Onuoha disse, “O trabalho em equipe é o segredo que faz pessoas comuns atingirem resultados incomuns”. Vamos fazer esta experiencia incrível acontecer: JUNTOS!! De doação em doação chegaremos lá...

Para nossos doadores se conectarem ainda mais  com o TETO, as famílias, e os voluntários, preparamos uma série de recompensas que variam de acordo com o valor doado. Recompensas incluem: camisetas do TETO da contrução de Julho, fotos, videos, cartas das famílias e dos voluntários, e muito mais!! As diferentes opções estão descritas a direita.

A forma de envio das recompensas será tratada diretamente com o doador após o fim da campanha.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?

Between the 23rd and the 28th of July, we are organizing the construction of 50 houses in the communities around São Paulo! With 7 other volunteers that love TETO as much as I do, we have created a campaign to raise funds for the construction of these houses. This not only includes giving 50 families the opportunity for a new and safer home, but also providing a life changing experience for over 300 volunteers who would be participating in this event. With the help of each and every one of you, we can make it!

First, I want to thank you for your interest in this incredible cause! My name is Isabel Engels and I am a student at McGill, Canada studying Political Science and International development. I have been volunteering with Teto for over two and a half years. Wow! I can’t believe that it’s been that long! I had no idea how much it would change my life. I am proposing not only that you help change the lives of those families who live in poverty but also give volunteers, such as myself, a life changing experience. YOU can make a difference!! 

SO... THE BIG QUESTION: WHAT IS TETO?

TETO is a non-governmental organization located in 4 states in Brazil and in 19 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. We do not have the support of the government! That’s right! We depend on people like you and the generosity of companies for donations to continue changing people’s lives. How does TETO achieve this?

It’s goal is to eradicate extreme poverty, a situation in which million of people live in, through the joint work of those who live in the communities in need and young volunteers. The inhabitants of the communities work side by side with the volunteers in order to improve their neighbourhood through the construction of emergency houses. Rats, water leakage, sewage, flooding, are no longer problems with the house TETO builds. The families are then able to focus their attention on other needs. TETO believes the construction of a house not only empowers the families but also impacts the volunteers by breaking paradigms.

IT'S ALL OR NORTHING!!

The final goal is to construct 5 houses and therefore we need to raise R$36,000. This amount will cover the operational and administrative costs of the houses as well as the rewards associated with donations! If we are not able to raise all of the money in our first goal of R$16,500 by the 1st of July, 100% of the money is given back to the donors. This is another reason why we really need everyone’s help. As Ifeanyi Onuoha said, “Teamwork is the secret that makes common people achieve uncommon results”! Once you have clicked "Apoiar a campanha", the second page will give you a possibility of rewards with different values. On top of the rewards, there is a button saying, "Nao quero recompensas", click that and choose your specific value, whcih will be in reais so remember to do the conversion!!!  

Due to the fact that the donations are in Reais, here are some conversion rates so that everyone around the world can make a difference:

REWARDS SAY WHAT?!

In order to allow our donors to further connect with Teto, the families, and the volunteers, we have prepared a set of rewards that will vary according to the amounts donated. Due to the fact that many of the donors are international, we have created different gifts for those who live in São Paulo and those who live abroad. Gifts include: T-Shirts from the construction in July, pictures, videos, letters from the families and volunteers, and much more. Due to delivery complications with props such as shirts and mugs, each international donnors will be receiving at least one reward, which will only be revealed at the end of the campaign. But, the more you donate, the more rewards you will get showing how many lives you have impacted!!  

Teto motivates people to unite for a common cause, whether it is for the construction of one house or for the end of poverty. By donating, you are giving people the opportunity to learn about humility, leadership, teamwork, and perseverance.
